What is KARKAS
Records?
KARKAS Records was created January of 2009. A very young record
label but don’t let that discourage you. Read on and you will want
to sign to KARKAS Records today.
KARKAS Records is an all underground record label that is owned by
Pyro “The Satanic Juggalo”. It is very supportive of the artists
that are signed to the record label. Promotion of the artists is a
huge factor that makes KARKAS Records stand out from the rest of
the record labels out there.
The artists of KARKAS Records are not obligated to stay underground
forever. However, during the term of being signed by KARKAS Records
artists are considered underground.
The artists are not bound to a contract at this time. Everything
that is done is solely by agreement situation by situation unless
recognized as something previously discussed or is the decision of
better judgment after evaluating the needs of the artist. The
artist has full rights to knowledge of what is being done. Upon
leaving KARKAS, we give more rights than most record labels.
How does
KARKAS Records promote artists?
First and foremost, KARKAS Records encourages its artists to
register to many sites. How regular the artists sign on to each
depends on their schedules. Even if they have their Street Team do
it. This proves that they are willing to support and promote
themselves. We provide a list of sites to register to. Some have
high traffick and others with a medium level of traffick. We work
hard to find those sites and stay away from the low traffick
sites.
KARKAS Records posts advertisements for its Artists’ at all times.
Any album releases, concert dates, etc are posted.
KARKAS Records hosts MixTapes which includes free downloads, paid
downloads and professionally pressed and printed discs for sale and
distribution.
KARKAS Records works closely with other record labels and MixTapes
as well. There is cross-promotion which leads to an excellent fan
base.
KARKAS Records creates graphics for its artists. These graphics
match the other artists of KARKAS Records. Some graphics are
different as well, upon the artists’ requests. KARKAS Records helps
its artists gather a Street Team as much as possible. The Street
Team that KARKAS Records can guarantee is an internet based Street
Team, a.k.a Web Team. KARKAS Records attempts to gather a Street
Team in the areas where its artists have live shows for
distribution of promo items. This cannot always be promised.
What Genres
are supported by KARKAS Records?
All genres are supported by KARKAS Records. Metal, Gothic,
Industrial, Techno, Rave, Trance, Rap, Horrorcore, etc. We at
KARKAS Records, enjoy talent no matter where it comes from. That is
one of the many things that makes KARKAS Records stand out, is that
we don’t only promote one genre.
What and Why
does it cost to join KARKAS Records?
Not everything in this world is free. Time is money, therefore, the
time we put into promoting you is definately worth your money. The
services branch off in many ways. This means that the price itself
varies. We try not to charge more than what is realistic and still
trying to profit a small amount.
There is not one record label that doesn't have some form of
payment policy. For more details on the amounts please visit the

If I was to
sign to KARKAS, how long do I sign for?
This is really up to you and your manager. We ask that you give it
a year at minimum. You may find that there is a record label better
suited for your needs. Upon this time we will discuss the things
needed and get you on your way. Sometimes it is easier to find a
record label if you already have. So in this case, this is very
possible that you might come to this. Again, we ask that you give
it a year, however, we can not bind you to the label. Upon the time
of a binding contract a time frame will be set.
Other
Important Information about KARKAS Records
KARKAS Records does not book shows. We leave that to your manager.
We pride in not stepping on other people toes. They have their jobs
to do and we have ours. (If you do not have a manager and need help
in this area we may attempt to help you for an additional fee or
agreement.)
Because we also work as a Promotional Company, you can be signed to
a record label such as Combined Minds Records, Serial Killin
Records, Infected Minds Productions, or even Psychopathic Records
and still use the services of KARKAS Records. You would need to
make sure that your Manager, Producer and Record Label is okay with
this before signing with KARKAS Records.
Record Labels or Managers that would like to purchase promotional
services for or sign several or all of their Artists would be
eligible for discounts. This is better for the artists in more ways
than one. All information would then go through the Record Label
and KARKAS Records, saving time by not having to send out several
messages.
In order to provide excellent quality images, you will need to
submit high resolution images with a white background or solid
background that is not the same color as your clothing.
Another nice thing about us is that we see talent and offer them a
chance and a backing. One thing that is for sure is that not all
record labels will do this. Most record labels won't sign new
artists or artists who don't meet high expectations. All we ask is
that the artist gives it a full fighting chance.

Advice to
you, dear Artist
I want you seriously consider the options of signing to KRI vs
Other Labels. Read up on what they offer. Find out how to get on
their label. Compare notes. Think about it thoroughly before
contacting us. We have had several people who weren't serious. In
the case of Masquerade, we started the sign on procedures and then
they decided KRI didn't have what they want. Months later, they
were still unsigned. My words to them and other people will always
remain the same in their case: "A little backing, will get you the
spotlight you need to get the big backing." In other words, just
because we can't offer you everything you want, doesn't mean KRI
wouldn't be able to help you. If you really feel that KRI can help
you, let's talk. If you won't ever be satisfied with what I do
offer, don't bother.
